the cow splotch bean between the mohawk bean (which you murdered the name of tom, do you have the real name anywhere?) and the seneca birds egg was found in an abandoned corn field and i dont know what it is. the striped brown and pink ones with black here and there in the small baggies next to the cow splotch one are a mix of mine, all the best cornfield beans moving together. it is from my first year doing three sisters when i had many varieties planted together. most of them are from mexico and the southwest, although some of the mix is from the northern plains and the largest portion of the bean is tonawanda from NY. some of the drought tolerance, heat tolerance, and other southern traits are gonna come in handy this year. i hope to move the genes to mix with northern beans of similar types as to adapt to the changing climate.

the kidney on the right hand side is seneca kidney and i am told that it is the first kidney, and that they were developed by seneca people.

the black and white ones to the left are calypso bean, or orca bean, or yin yang bean. whatever you want to call it. its a bush bean and its big beaned with few pods. lovely dry bean. i want to see it cross out, maybe someday a lucky bee will make it possible.

A rare Mohawk bean called Skunk bean, also known as Chester or Flagg beans. I am doing a larger growout of these beans and hope to pass them to more folks. Got them from Norton Rickart and Doug Egeland. Beautiful beans. here's the only commercial source I know of is this place in Manitoba. www.heritageharvestseed.com/beansfg.html#flagg
