The plantain seen as a broadleafed weed with a seed stem growing out of the middle has been used by my people to stop bleeding, just crush the leaves up and apply like a poltice.

and medicine for my skeeter eaten sun burnt scratched open skin. I juiced a big juicy plantain that I found in my strawberries, and rubbed the green juice on. I loved how it felt on my owies I rubbed it all over my body and face and put it in my hair. Then of course husband walks in and says, "I hope you arnt allergic to that stuff" Well it all dry and I have a green tint I will be washing off in the shower and it still feels good.

here is a california mother's video on plantain i found on the youtube. she does not mention how one can avoid the toughness of the fibers in the broadleaf plantain by cutting them perpendicular to their grain. also, the "english" plantain also known as narrow leaf plantain, i prefer it. it has a more palatable texture and the flavor raw is close to mushroom. it makes a good green for sandwiches.

A couple day's ago, something bit/stung me under the tongue of my shoe. Took that shoe off, chewed some Plantain from the lawn and stuck it on my foot. The pain went away and I kept gardening.
I was given some Plantain salve in 2003 that's really good to use on heat rash, chafing...
