Hi, I live in NE Ohio, and I am a big fan of companion planting. I grow the usual garden variety but usually include a yearly experiment (last year it was rice) I also grow bamboo (for eating and building stuff) My garden is an organic low maintenance "no-till" type that has fed me and 1/2 the village I live in. (bumper crop of squash and beans) I went to Sierra Leone in 2012 and taught an agricultural class, and was asked to return in 2014 to teach a larger one. I have between now and then to collect seeds for 100 gardeners to distribute after the class.

Welcome Devon,
We're happy to see you. I would love to see some pictures of your animals and, in the spring, your garden.
What is Buffalo biodynamics?

Hi! I am Patricia MacDonald, from northern Ontario, according to the southern folk in Toronto, but only about 1/2 way up the province. In my small bush (forest) plot I grow whatever I can, mostly spring vegis work here, but I have an old metal gazebo frame up and wrapped in plastic with tomatoes and squash in there. In a warm summer we can get small ears of corn, and I've grown asema (tobacco) here several years. The plants stay short but in a small 4' x 4' plot I can get enough for ceremony and that is good enough for me. Up here we frequently traded with our southern cousins for such agricultural riches, and we still do the same.

Onen, My name is David, and I am a Chef and Board Member of the local Slow Food Chapter here in the Augusta, GA area. I'm currently doing some research looking for any Native beans and peas. Mainly ones that can be eaten in the Southern Style. Filed Peas, Cow Peas and Butter Beans. We're looking to have a Slow Food event featuring these type of beans and peas. We'll be looking for some things that need to be preserved and enjoyed again as well. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, please message me! Nyah:weh

Hi, I am Vlad, I live in Romania (Dacia) in Europe.Well, I have looked at members, and I think I'm the youngest , I have 17 years.I grow corn, beans, pumpkins, sorghum, and other vegetables, i aslo grow rabbits, goats and pigeons. I want to make a new breed of corn because in this country we almost lost our corn,it was replaced by industrial hybryd corn(industrial corn is not good for flowr). If you have questions about my country just ask me. I am happy to join in your forum.

Well, what translator you use?google translate? The trnsaltion is incorrect, the correct form is : Salut Vlad Sunt incantat sa te cunosc.Sunt fericit sa fac comert cu seminte. But i understand what you want to say .Nice to meet you too.I don't use a translator because its a bad translate and the translation from romanian to english lost it's meening. In future I want to post some photos with my harvest and my genetic material.

Hi! I'm Gunn, living in Norway, close to Oslo. I grow some tomatoes and other greenhouse plants, cucumbers, croquettes, carrots, and so on. Since the summer here are rather short, I need to start chili, bell peppers, augergine and tomatoes indoor, using plant light. I have my education from horticulture, have worked for around 9 years growing stuff in greenhouses (in ICELAND!) but has it only as an hobby to day. Strange, when you are used to working in several 1000m2 greenhouses, those sold for home gardening fill up really quick.
I am interested in homegrown food, heirloom, plans made for cold climate, and so on. I prefer wegs, but must confess i have some plants for ornamental use only.
Here in Norway we have different challenges than in hotter areas. We are free of frost from middle of may until end of september. But it never get real hot. I have some grapes living on a wall (from the Baltic states) but plants like magnolia hardly make it in my garden. They live, but don't grow much. On the other side, a lot of pests don't like it here, either.
