Pura Fe
Pura Fe (purafe.com/) is my favorite musician. She pulls her talent up from deep down in her roots up through her spirit, and her song is like a prayer! Her name is spanish for “pure faith.” Hailing from the Skaroora Haudenosaunee nation, she currently lives in the land of her people, North Carolina. Gaining world recognition for her participation in the all indigenous women’s trio “Ulali,” Pura Fe has continued to spread music and love with the collaboration of many other artists, including the deer clan singers, and the Pura Fe Trio. Her heart is full, and she has a good mind. It is my honor to name one of my favorite new tomato cultivars after her.
Pura Fe the tomato is a large midseason yellow and red bicolor, that is heavy on the red side. The flavors are mixed from sweet and fruity to the deepest old fashioned tomato taste you would expect from a red beefsteak, a real winner in the flavor department. The disease resistant potato leaf vines grow out until frost to lengths around 9 feet and produce abundantly. The tomatoes in the photos were produced without irrigation or soil amendment, so you can be sure that these are hardy especially for the large size. I am happy to say this is my new favorite yellow bicolor beefsteak. Although Pura Fe looks much like german bicolor tomatoes common to the US, there is actually no direct relation. Very low stock.
