please share your experience with harvesting and storing tomato seeds here. there are many methods but almost all of them center around the fermentation of the tomato seed in order to remove the fleshy sac that surrounds it along with the germination-inhibiting chemicals it contains. fermentation also reduces the risks of pathogens from the mother surviving to the offspring. it may seem daunting at first but once you try it you can see how easy it is. photos welcome!

very low tech at home. this is how we do it. mason jar with a coffee filter to ferment. a days pick and a few seed to soak in there own juice. after 3-5 days i rinse real good and keep the seeds that sink only. air dry on a plate
